Frequently Asked Questions
What is IPPC decking and why does it matter for international shipping?
IPPC decking uses lumber stamped with the International Plant Protection Convention (ISPM-15) compliance mark, confirming the wood has been heat-treated to eliminate pests and pathogens. Most countries worldwide require this for all wood packaging used in import shipments — without it, your container can be delayed, quarantined, or rejected at the destination port at significant cost. Impact Technology supplies fully ISPM-15 compliant decking on every container load.
What does FOB mean for my export order?
FOB (Free On Board) means Impact Technology’s responsibility for your goods ends once the loaded container is available at our loading facility in Long Prairie, MN or Garland, TX. From that point, you (the buyer) are responsible for all costs and risk — ocean freight, marine insurance, destination port fees, import duties, and inland delivery in your destination country. You must arrange freight forwarding to pick up the loaded container.
Which countries do exported copiers go to?
Impact Technology exports used copiers to countries across six continents worldwide. Key markets include Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe — regions with strong demand for affordable, reliable used office equipment. Black-and-white copiers are particularly popular in developing markets. Our team can recommend freight forwarders with expertise in your target region.
